It was a fun race, and would have been great if we had walked just 8 miles instead of 8.6. It was my fault we walked the extra 0.6 mile -- I misread a sign I thought indicated that we should turn left when we should have gone straight.

![]() Cindi and Pat entered the One Lucky Buckeye 8-mile race on Sept. 17. The weather was great with temps in the high 50s at the start. Near the starting line the race gave away plenty of red items that could be worn during the race: wigs, leis, necklaces, sunglasses.. Too many of the items could interfere with a race, so we settled on leis. It was a fun race, and would have been great if we had walked just 8 miles instead of 8.6. It was my fault we walked the extra 0.6 mile -- I misread a sign I thought indicated that we should turn left when we should have gone straight.

Several Buckeye Striders entered the Emerald City Half Marathon August 24. Though a little warm and humid, it was a fun race. Congrats to Steve for finishing another half marathon under 3 hours!

Just four of us did the Westerville Rotary July 4th 5K this year: Deb, Nancy, Pat and Cindi. Cindi and Nancy. Cindi and Nancy tied with a finish time of 43:58. Pat was right behind us at 44:02 with Deb at a close 44:13.
With the new age group of 50+, we ended up finishing in order from 59th through 62nd. Though we had a good time, we are thinking about doing the New Albany race next year. For just $5 more that race had gender-specific shirts. The ones at this race were huge. |
